At Dragonville Interiors, we recently designed and fitted this contemporary kitchen, using a mix of light, dark and natural finishes to give the room a clean but welcoming feel.
The Glacier light grey gloss doors help reflect light around the space, while the Smoke Onyx worktops bring depth and contrast. Continuing the same Aria compact laminate across the splashbacks and upstands keeps the design flowing and allows the stone effect to become a strong feature without making the kitchen feel too busy. A Graphite Gold rail adds a subtle finishing detail against the pale cabinetry.
To soften the more contemporary surfaces, the room is grounded by Amtico Click Smart flooring in Nordic Oak. The warmer wood tone makes the overall scheme feel more comfortable and helps the kitchen sit naturally within the home.
The practical details have been treated with the same care. A Stone Grey Franke Maris undermount sink blends neatly with the darker worktop and is paired with a Krios J-spout tap in Decor Steel. A LeMans pull-out also makes the corner storage easier to reach, ensuring that no useful space is wasted.
For cooking, the kitchen includes a Neff Slide & Hide pyrolytic oven and compact microwave, both finished with Graphite trims that work particularly well with the Smoke Onyx surfaces. A venting induction hob keeps the cooking area streamlined by combining the hob and extraction, while the dishwasher and fridge freezer are integrated behind the cabinetry.
LED strip lighting provides useful illumination while preparing food and brings out the detail in the darker surfaces. Brushed nickel spotlight bezels and brushed steel sockets and switches complete the room without distracting from the main design.
The result is a kitchen that feels polished and contemporary, but not cold. The combination of reflective cabinetry, deep stone tones and Nordic Oak flooring gives the space balance – while carefully planned storage and integrated appliances make it practical for everyday life.
