Transforming small kitchens
Kitchen storage
In a particularly small kitchen that has the goal to appear larger, where to store things may become an issue. by moving clutter and placing it in areas that cannot be seen presents the illusion of a larger kitchen space. In order to achieve this, little bit of creative fixing can be of help. Invest in storage that is not big or bulky, perhaps hang utensils from a wine rack rather than in a draw, or add section and shelves into deep draws to maximise usage of the area. Ensure that the storage chosen fits your aesthetics and stores everything away to create more space.
Light colour schemes for kitchens
In order to open up and create the illusion of space in your kitchen, the colour scheme plays a huge role. White walls allow the room to appear brighter and therefore larger. If colour is your thing, pastel colours tend to work alongside white to create the same illusion, but with the colour that you love! Reflective white tiles also are a brilliant idea as they reflect light and open up the space even more, these could be on the walls or the floor space.
Add a kitchen island
Although a large item to be adding to a small space, however a slimline design may be for you! . A kitchen island can be an easy replacement for a table, and can even have areas underneath them to store the chairs – unlike most tables. Islands also offer a large storage space for your kitchen essentials and can allow shelves to be removed as the utensils can be moved into. New place, creating a more open look. It also allows the small area to become more of a social space as it can be easily gathered around and more chairs/ stool scan be placed into it.
Simplicity is key
A simple kitchen with minimal clutter and organisation is essential. Make sure that everything in your kitchen has a place to be stored, this minimises odd items from taking up space around your room, and creates more space for you. If decoration and accessorization is for you, small house plants may be the perfect addition for you, or perhaps a fruit bowl placed in an easily accessible area to add a pop off colour to your room.
