A Small Bedroom Design
Designing a bedroom can be a difficult task, especially if it is a small bedroom. Trying to create the perfect room without over-cramping can be something that does not prove easy. However, with practical storage solutions combined with the right interior design schemes, you can have the bedroom of your dreams no matter how small it may be.
Changing the layout of the small bedroom
The key to making your small bedroom appear bigger is to rethink the traditional bedroom layout. One of the main pieces of advice is minimal furniture. Ask yourself if you need that extra chest of draws. Or could it be easily replaced with a shelf to open up more floor space in the room? Keeping as much furniture as possible on one wall keeps the room feeling less crowded.
Keep a light shining through the small bedroom
Although we all have our styles and it is important to put our unique spin on our bedrooms, light colours always make a room feel bigger than what it is. This doesn’t mean white is your only option, pastel colours, light-coloured wood and more windows all help to create this illusion.
The use of mirrors in your small bedroom
There’s nothing that opens up a room quite like a mirror can. Full-length mirrors can be ideal for making your room look double the size. Try fitting them to a wall, or a wardrobe door. The extra reflecting light will help make the room seem more open.
Storage around the bed
Not sure where to keep your belongings if you need to remove a bedside cabinet? An ideal way is to have your wardrobe and draws built around your bed. Bespoke wardrobes can often be one of the easiest solutions to storage issues. If extra space is still needed, shelves above the bed connecting the two wardrobes can be ideal. Not only is it a great storage solution it brings attention to one wall in the room, keeping open space everywhere else.
